Hello there

The How To
Ah, the Powerpoint presentation. Such a useful tool, but also a source of the deepest dread, fear, and despair. There’s good reason “Death by Powerpoint” is a meme.
On the latest edition of our live video series we shared 5 simple ways to level up your next slide deck so it’s engaging, story-driven, and able to clearly communicate even the most complex topics.

Hot & Cool
Marshall McLuhan coined two categories of media: hot & cool. Here’s what Hot & Cool in our world right now.
Hot: Ten Cities. We’re currently working on two education projects rooted in music and nightclub culture. 'Ten Cities' explores clubbing in Nairobi, Cairo, Kyiv, Johannesburg, Berlin, Naples, Luanda, Lagos, Bristol, and Lisbon from 1960 to 2020. We especially dig it as it ticks several Wavetable boxes: showcasing creativity; highlighting diversity; and applying both local and global lenses.
Cool: Story Xperiential: Wouldn't it be cool to learn Pixar's best practices in storytelling, and have the opportunity to work in collaboration with their team plus a global group of peers? Very cool.
What we’ve been hearing from our clients and community:
"Everyone would benefit from organized learning like this, and shaping a cohort and community in an accelerated way" (from a creative industries conference we recently partnered with)
“Please don't use any bright yellow slides!” (from a deck I built. I clearly didn't take my own advice.)
That's all for this edition - we'd love to get your questions, input, and vibes. Just hit reply.
Until 2022,
Howard & the Wavetable team
